Founder, Agency Builder Pro

Matt McCray has been a licensed insurance agent since 2002. He's spent more than two decades building, growing, and selling insurance agencies, and recruiting licensed agents has been the common thread through all of it.

He founded Agency Builder Pro to help other insurance agency owners do what worked for him: recruit licensed agents directly, consistently, and without relying on job boards or expensive recruiters.

Two Decades Building Insurance Agencies

In 2002, Matt launched two companies at the same time. Brokers Revolution was an insurance agency he owned and operated as an IMO, focused on final expense, mortgage protection, infinite banking, and IUL markets. Final Expense Sales Leads was a separate lead generation company he founded, eventually generating over 50,000 telemarketer leads per year for final expense and Medicare supplement agents nationwide.

Through Brokers Revolution, Matt built and scaled agent teams, developed agent training systems, and created lead generation programs that drove consistent agency growth. He was also a founding partner of Chelsea Insurance Group, a final expense IMO he helped build from the ground up.

Matt and his partners sold Chelsea Insurance Group in 2019. That sale gave him the time and focus to go all-in on Agency Builder Pro, the recruiting system he'd already been building to solve the same problem he'd faced for years: agencies don't usually have a recruiting problem, they have a lead generation problem.

Agency Builder Pro

Since 2020, Matt has helped insurance agency owners and recruiters across the country recruit more licensed agents to their teams. He's worked directly with leaders from organizations including Equis Financial, Family First Life, Life Professionals, and Senior Life, along with independent agency owners, IMOs, and FMOs in nearly every insurance vertical.

Agency Builder Pro runs on the same systems Matt used to grow his own agencies: targeted cold email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, access to a database of over 1.5 million licensed Life and Health agents, and recruiting funnels built to convert interest into real conversations.

What Matt Writes About

Matt writes the Agency Builder Pro blog, sharing what's actually working in insurance agent recruiting today: channel comparisons, timing strategies, and lessons learned from running recruiting campaigns across Medicare, final expense, life insurance, annuity, and P&C verticals.

His writing draws directly from two decades of running real agencies and real recruiting campaigns, not recycled advice from a decade ago. The methods that worked in 2015 mostly don't anymore, and he stays focused on what actually works right now.
